LIVERPOOL CRUZA EL RÍO CON EL 432 / LIVERPOOL CROSES THE RIVER WITH THE 432

Liverpool has around 450.000 inhabitants and it is serviced by a wide network of buses, controlled by the Transport Executive, called Merseytravel. The main bus operator is ARRIVA NORTH WEST that relays the former MTL and MerseyBus, after the privatisation, although the company covers the rest of the North West Region and North Wales. It has around 1,334 buses (88% single deckers and 65% low floor). Arriva in 2008 agreed to use low floor buses in the main routes in Liverpool, extending it throughout Merseyside by 2011.

Curiously enough, the city doesn't have a 32 route. However, the buses crossing over to the other side of the Mersey, numbered 4xx do have a 432 that links Liverpool city centre (Castle Street, in the picture with the City Hall at the back) with New Brighton, a former summer resort. The route crosses the Kingsway Tunnel, serving Poulton, Liscard, Wallasey and New Brighton. The service is combined with 430 and 433. Funnily, at night, the bus is renumbered N450, but it serves the same areas as the 432. Buses used in this route are usually double deckers.
