32 Y 31 COMBINADOS EN SAUMUR / 32 AND 31 COMBINED IN SAUMUR

Saumur es una ciudad francesa en la región del Loira, con alrededor de 30.000 habitantes. Dispone de una red de autobuses, operada por Agglobus, perteneciente al grupo Veolia, con 8 líneas (30-36 más la 11, que es un servicio escolar). Una numeración un tanto extraña, puesto no hay líneas con numeración inferior. Además, dispone de un servicio a la demanda.

La línea 32 une el centro de la ciudad con el barrio de Bagneux-Chantemerle al sur, que recorre en forma de línea circular, para volver al centro. Por su parte, la 31, desde el centro (misma parada que la 32) va hacia el oeste, hasta Saint-Hilaire Hautes vignes, donde también realiza un recorrido circular para volver después al centro de la ciudad.

Es precisamente en el centro, donde ambas líneas se unen. No sé por qué razón, las han unido creando la línea 32 - 31 y la 31 - 32, según el recorrido que hagan... Supongo que será porque muchos usuarios se desplazan de un barrio a otro y evitan, así, cambiar de autobús. Pero curiosamente, no ocurre lo mismo con el resto de líneas, que también son radiales, con principio de línea en el centro de la ciudad y no se unen

It is a rather strange numbering, as there aren't any small numbers in operation. Additionally, it offers a service on demand.

Route 32 links the city centre with the Bagneux-Chantemerle district, in the south, that runs in a circle, to return back to the city centre. The 31, from the same stop in the centre, hits towards the west, up to Saint-Hilaire Hautes vignes, where, with a circular route, returns to the centre.

It is precisely in the centre where both lines get together. I am not sure why, but they created the route 32 - 31 and the 31 - 32, depending on which direction they go... I guess it will be related to some statistics where they found out that neighbours from one district continued to the other, and by doing this, they don't need to change bus. Curiously enough, this only occurs with these two lines, as the others are also radial, with terminus in the city centre but are not paired.
