Clermont-Ferrand es una ciudad del centro de Francia, capital de la región de Auvernia y del departamento del Puy-de-Dôme, cerca de Lyon. Con alrededor de 140.000 habitantes, la ciudad es un importante centro industrial, destacando la fábrica de Michelín. Recientemente, se ha instalado una línea de tranvía que recorre la ciudad. Curiosamente, el tranvía dispone de un solo carril que le guía, porque el tranvía circula... sobre ruedas... ¿Cómo iban a dejar a Michelín no rodar por su ciudad? La verdad es que este tipo de transporte, guiado sobre ruedas neumáticas, es muy usual en varios metros de Francia, como en París, Rennes...
La empresa encargada del transporte es T2C, del grupo Keolis, con 24 líneas de autobús, trolebús y una de tranvía.
El 32 circula bajo demanda entre el centro (Gaillard) donde tiene correspondencia con el tranvía y Sayat Bel Air, con un recorrido extra hasta Argnat Le Mas.
