La ciudad de Montpellier, al sur de Francia, cuenta con una población de mas de 260.000 habitantes y casi 500.000 si incluimos su área metropolitana.El transporte urbano lo opera TAM. La ciudad está en pleno proceso de cambiar sus autobuses por tranvías. Dos líneas ya en funcionamiento (más de 34 kms) y la tercera en construcción. Además, dispone de 29 líneas de autobús (urbanas y suburbanas) con 175 autobuses.
La línea 32 es una línea suburbana, como bien se puede ver en el tipo de autobús utilizado, que conecta Montpelier Rives du Lez y Villeneuve les Maguelone, con una frecuencia de paso aproximada de una hora en laborables y cuatro viajes los domingos y festivos.
